I Would Like to Share

 Good Day Everyone!  I had to work yesterday and was not able to attend Church.  I took some time at work to read the Bible and this passage was very touching too me.  Thank you for allowing me to share.

Psalm 30

Joy in the Morning
A psalm; a dedication song for the house. Davidic.
 1 I will exalt You, LORD,
    because You have lifted me up (A)
    and have not allowed my enemies
    to triumph over me. (B)

    2 LORD my God,
    I cried to You for help, and You healed me. (C)

    3 LORD, You brought me up from Sheol; (D)
    You spared me from among those
    going down [a] to the Pit. (E)

    4 Sing to the LORD, you His faithful ones,
    and praise His holy name. (F)

    5 For His anger lasts only a moment,
    but His favor, a lifetime.
    Weeping may spend the night,
    but there is joy in the morning. (G)

    6 When I was secure, I said,
    "I will never be shaken." (H)

    7 LORD, when You showed Your favor,
    You made me stand like a strong mountain; (I)
    when You hid Your face, I was terrified. (J)

    8 LORD, I called to You;
    I sought favor from my Lord: (K)

    9 "What gain is there in my death,
    in my descending to the Pit?
    Will the dust praise You?
    Will it proclaim Your truth? (L)

    10 LORD, listen and be gracious to me;
    LORD, be my helper." (M)

    11 You turned my lament into dancing;
    You removed my sackcloth
    and clothed me with gladness, (N)

    12 so that I can sing to You and not be silent.
    LORD my God, I will praise You forever. (O)

Drunken Candidates

 I just read this article in the New York Times (Click Here to Read) and was rather dismayed.  I try not to be negative, and my personal theory is that we need less politics and more leadership in our country.  The idea of two presidential hopefuls having a drinking contest against each other is pretty sad.  Even worse, both Clinton and McCain are already in the US Senate.  What kind of message does this send to our children and the rest of the country?  This just reaffirms my view on the need for leadership, less politics and that we need to pray for our elected officials.

My Response to Pat Buchanan

First of all, let me say that I respect Pat Buchanan and believe that he is a descent Christian Man. However, I must respond to his latest commentary that can be read on World Net Daily.

Mr. Buchanan states "One wonders if these Christians care about what is happening to our Christian brethren in Lebanon and Gaza, who have had all power cut off by Israeli airstrikes, an outlawed form of collective punishment, that has left them with no sanitation, rotting food, impure water and days without light or electricity in the horrible heat of July. " I belief that most Christians do care about the suffering that is going on in Lebanon and Israel. As I blogged yesterday, we need to pray for a quick end to this conflict.

It is my opinion that Mr. Buchanan is also in error when he states "No, this is nor our war." This is our war Mr. Buchanan. There is a global war on terror and anyone can see that. We must support and stand behind the nation of Israel it has a right to defend itself as a sovereign nation.

As for attacking Iran, I agree that a great amount of caution should be used. This is nothing to rush into. But make no mistake, Iran is supplying Hezbollah and they have a broad agenda in doing so. Iran takes pleasure in anyone attacking Israel, and it has a sincere hope that the United States will also militarily come to Israel's defense. If the United States becomes involved in a military conflict that would protect Israel, many Arab countries would move to curb or stop oil shipments to the U.S. and thus cripple the United States, weakening it globally. Such activity would also take the eyes off of Iran's nuclear program and give them more time to become the global threat they intend on becoming.

A final question: What would the United States do if a terrorist organization was launching rockets into our nation? Answer: it would crush them at all expense, just as Israel is doing.

There is much as stake here Mr. Buchanan. Attacks by terrorists have expanded to many different nations over the last few years. There is a global war on terror, and Yes - It is "Our War."
